The study, published in Circulation, suggests that the amount of time it took to completely heal cold sores was 60%. This was associated with a reduction in lesion area and a reduced healing effect.
This is a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of 72 patients given Zovirax Cold Sore Cream two or three times a day for five days.The healing was complete in 69% of the patients, and healing in all 69 patients.
The study, which is being conducted in the UK, involved 3,000 patients and has periods of six and six weeks, respectively.

Zovirax Suspension is used to treat viral infections. It plays a vital role in treating cold sores (an inflamed blister in or near the mouth, caused by infection with the herpes simplex virus), genital herpes (a common sexually transmitted infection marked by genital pain and sores), and herpes zoster (a viral infection that causes a painful rash). In addition to this, it is also used to treat chickenpox. Zovirax Suspension does not cure herpes but does not allow the infection to spread and treat its symptoms.
Zovirax Suspension contains Aciclovir, which is an antiviral medication. Zovirax Suspension prevents the multiplication of viruses in human cells by acting on their DNA, resulting in decreased viral overload.
Zovirax Suspension is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition. In some cases, you may experience headaches, feeling dizzy, feeling or being sick (nausea or vomiting), diarrhoea, rash, and skin sensitivity to sunlight.
